Increasing tax revenues. After the March 24 presidential election, the General Directorate of Taxes and Domains (DGID) launched a massive tax collection campaign, particularly in the media sector. This initiative is beginning to bear fruit.
Budget revenues reached 1,450.1 billion CFA francs by the end of May, thanks to an increase in tax revenues. According to Les Échos, which reports this information, tax revenues amounted to 1,373.3 billion CFA francs, an increase of 4.9%, or 64.4 billion CFA francs in absolute terms.

This result is mainly due to corporate taxes, non-oil domestic VAT, import duties and the Petroleum Products Import Guarantee Fund (FSIPP). However, the newspaper points out that the increase in budgetary resources was weakened by the decline in non-tax revenues, which fell by 15.7% to 76.8 billion CFA francs.
