Well, a dinosaur on the price tag? An Edeka customer was surprised when she made this discovery in Hamburg. An alleged insider provides an explanation.

Hamburg – There are certain secrets to discover in the supermarket that hardly any customer knows regarding. One of them is this color bar, which was discovered at Rewe and which has an important meaning. A Lidl store manager recently revealed a vegetable code. A Reddit user has now made a cute but initially inexplicable discovery: a dinosaur on an Edeka price tag.

Edeka customer discovers Dino on the price tag and is surprised

“Why do some product signs have these dinosaurs on them? It wasn’t with other drinks. Only at +/- half,” she writes regarding the photo. When asked by our editorial team, she added that it was an Edeka market in Hamburg-Nienburg. None of this has been confirmed, but it seems anything but made up. The same applies to the prompt clarification with which a user speaks up.

“EDEKAner here”: Alleged insider promptly provides an explanation

“EDEKAner here. This means that there is an old item number on the plate and there is already a new one. An employee should replace them quickly, as this may lead to stockouts.” The Edeka team therefore needs to act quickly when the dinosaur appears. A completely surprising resolution for the symbol, which was not to be expected.

The alleged statement received almost 400 likes in 20 hours, but no opposition. And this despite the fact that there are traditionally a lot of retail employees on Reddit, as was shown when they revealed the sayings that they can no longer hear. Another user also adds with cryptic insider abbreviations: “Old goods, new goods, changed design and / or different GTIN. You have to pay attention to this, otherwise the inventory in the WWS will not be correct and the world will come to an abrupt end.”

By the way, Edeka itself is keeping a low profile. When asked, they say: “We can confirm that the image is an electronic price tag from our region. However, please understand that we generally do not provide any information regarding operational, internal processes.”

“How CUTE is that?”: Edeka Dino causes excitement

In any case, the dinosaur and its meaning always cause enthusiasm. “How CUTE is that?” one person commented on both and received more than 200 likes. Of course, as expected, there are also a few deliberately wrong answers that just make you smile: “Product may contain traces of dinosaurs”, “This is for the items that go on the bottom of the shelf so that they are T-Rex safe” or “You have to jump to purchase the product,” they joke. A Frenchman recently mightn’t believe his eyes when he looked around a German Edeka. (lin)
