Dino Crisis turns 23 today

Despite only four games under its belt (the main trilogy and the Dino Stalker spin-off) and almost 20 years of hiatus, the Dino Crisis series is firmly etched in the hearts and minds of fans who still dream of its stylish return.

Unfortunately, Capcom doesn’t seem to have plans for a franchise, at least not yet. They recently confirmed that there are no links between Dino Crisis and Exoprimal, the latter being a third-person shooter focused on online co-op where players fight various dinosaurs in a futuristic setting. However, the announcement of a new IP has rekindled the dreams and hopes of gamers who want to keep hope alive for a possible return of the iconic series.

Meanwhile, exactly on July 1, 1999, the first Dino Crisis debuted on the Japanese PlayStation consoles, and a few months later appeared also in the US and Europe: fans got an exciting game in the style of Resident Evil, but with velociraptors and T-Rex instead of zombies and tyrants. And through their social channels, Capcom reminded that today marks 23 years since the creation of the series.

However, the message shared by the company is just celebrating an anniversary and nothing more, but the very fact of the publication nevertheless immediately got gamers excited on popular forums such as ResetERA. And there are even those who hope that the first two games will sooner or later appear on the new PlayStation Plus, available from June 23 in Europe.
