Thiruvananthapuram: Investigation team demands that Dileep’s phones be checked at the Thiruvananthapuram forensic lab. The phones need to be sent directly by the court to the cyber forensic lab. The Crime Branch filed an application in the Aluva Magistrate’s Court seeking this. The application was filed by SP Mohanachandran, head of the probe team, in the court chamber.

The phones of Dileep and the other accused were brought to the Aluva Magistrate’s Court last night following a High Court order. The magistrate’s court can now decide whether to provide the phones. The prosecution faced setbacks in the high court and the trial court yesterday. The main demand of the prosecution in the High Court for days was that the accused should be kept in custody and the mobile phones should be handed over for examination.

However, the interim order of Justice P Gopinath did not take any decision on this. Defendants are not cooperating with the investigation. Defendants say they did not even know regarding the phone that made the 12,000 calls. This phone has been in use till last August 31st. Further evidence can be obtained by examining the phones currently in production. The DGP had argued that it was necessary to question the accused in custody.
