Kochi: In the wake of the latest revelations in the Actress attack case, the High Court will today decide on sending the mobile phones of Dileep and his accomplices for examination. The court will also give directions as to which forensic lab the phones should be sent to. The petition will be considered at 1.45 pm. Meanwhile, the High Court has postponed Dileep’s anticipatory bail till Thursday in a case of conspiracy to endanger the investigating officers.

Dileep says that all the gadgets that he took from his house are in the possession of the police. Dileep also told the court that there was a possibility of tampering with something on the phones. The accused, including Dileep, handed over six of the seven mobile phones demanded by the crime branch to the high court. Despite Dileep’s claim that he was not using the fourth phone requested by the Crime Branch, the probe team has collected evidence that the phone was used.

Dileep’s lawyer Advocate B. Ramanpillai claims that if the phones are handed over to the police, there is a possibility of forgery. Defendant contends that the phones presented in the court yesterday should not be handed over now and that the phones should be handed over only following the decision on the bail plea on Thursday. But the prosecution objected. The Director General of Prosecutions told the High Court that the information on the phone should be checked before considering the anticipatory bail application.

Meanwhile, Dileep’s lawyer had told the court yesterday that they would also seek a CBI probe into the case. Raman Pillai said that he did not trust the team investigating the case and that a central agency should investigate the case. This is Dileep’s first mention of the CBI probe. According to Dileep, the probe team is trying to implicate all the accused except his mother and a media trial is underway.

Meanwhile, Dilip’s relatives lodged a complaint with the Angamaly Police seeking re-investigation into the death of a young man who was servicing his mobile phones in a car accident. Salish, a native of Kodakara, died on August 30, 2020 in an accident near Angamaly Telk. The relatives’ move comes following director Baiju Kottarakkara and others alleged that there were mysteries behind the death.
