At least 50 elderly people from the Urban district of Nova Vida, municipality of Kilamba Kiaxi, in Luanda, were trained, this Wednesday, on “Senior Entrepreneurship in the Third Age”, by the Dikota E6.0 Project of the Ngana Zenza Foundation

In this project, two training courses lasting an hour and a half each were carried out, covering, to date, a total of 50 trainees. Speaking to ANGOP, the foundation’s project manager, Ana Rita da Silva, said that after the Nova Vida Urban District, the activity will be extended to the municipality of Talatona, where it is expected to train dozens of elderly people.

The training, according to the manager, aims, among other objectives, to raise awareness among the population on this fringe of society, with a view to adopting healthy lifestyle habits, taking into account the prevention of common diseases in old age. “Greater attention needs to be paid to the quality of life of the elderly, highlighted the project manager at the Ngana Zenza Foundation.

In turn, the administrator of the Nova Vida Urban District, Niria Leitão, was visibly moved by the project’s initiative, considering it an added value because it helps the “Dikota”. Niria Leitão said that the aim of this project is to make the elderly understand how to undertake business with the resources they have, as well as how to start in this market.

“We believe that this will also be the administration’s responsibility to monitor the word of the Dikota people to share the knowledge they will receive with neighbors, family and those closest to them,” he said. The Dikota E6.0 Platform focuses on intergenerational relationships, cultivating solidarity between generations and ensuring the passing on of values and experiences, in a context of mutual learning.
