DigitrendZ: Moroccans spend 4 hours a day on social networks (study)

To be in tune with national trends on the digital front, a team of Moroccan experts designed and deployed DigitrendZ 2022 (“Moroccan Digital Trends”), a Moroccan survey carried out across the entire national territory.

This first edition concerns a sample of 3,000 people aged 13 to 65, all socio-professional categories combined, from the twelve regions of Morocco, who answered a self-administered online questionnaire.

Regarding social networks, the perception noted within the sample is generally positive: access to information, influence and freedom of expression, explains a press release. The results of the study also show that respondents spend on average 4 hours a day on social networks.

Majority of respondents follow influencers

With regard to influence, the study reveals that 75% of Moroccans follow influencers on social networks, with an average of 15 per person. These influencers are seen as a good source of information and trustworthy. The main themes of interest are humor, cooking, technology and fashion.

On the gaming side, 60% of respondents indicate indulge in electronic games. The majority of them play on their smartphone.

The majority are satisfied with the online purchase

In addition, 40% of individuals surveyed follow brands on social media, especially sports and electronics brands.

On the e-commerce side, half buy onlinefor a value of 21 billion dirhams during the period studied. This amount is mainly spent on fashion, makeup and personal care. Finally, the majority of online shoppers (95%) say they are satisfied with their experience, according to the results of the study.
