A new system for online vehicle ownership transfer and vehicle renewal is in the works in Kuwait. The new move is part of digitization of transport services.
As per the revised procedure, auto insurance will be renewed through the BIMA Electronic Document System. Interior Ministry Under Secretary Lt. Gen. Anwar Al Barjaz instructed the Insurance Regulatory Unit to make arrangements in this regard. Vehicle ownership rights will be changed through the ‘Sahel’ application.
Earlier, in a meeting held with representatives of the country’s insurance federation, the authorities had clarified that services including vehicle ownership renewal and transfer would be provided online. The service is being implemented on the instructions of Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Sheikh Talal.
