Digital Vaccination Cards: Safeguarding Children’s Health in Saudi Arabia

Riyadh: The Saudi Ministry of Health has reiterated the notification that children’s vaccination cards in the form of paper should be converted into digital cards as soon as possible. Digitizing the paper vaccination card will help prevent loss, keep it safe forever and make the card easily accessible whenever needed. The Ministry also stated that the digitalization of vaccination card has been linked with the fitness test in schools.

There is a facility to visit the clinics every morning and evening to vaccinate children and convert them digitally. Months ago, the ministry had asked to convert children’s paper vaccination cards into digital cards. This is a recently launched service. The vaccination certificate can be viewed and referred anytime through the clinic or by self-registration through the My Health app. This service has been prepared by the ministry as part of the digital transformation of health and to facilitate the health services provided to the citizens.

Those who currently have a paper vaccination card can quickly convert their child’s vaccination card to an electronic card by booking an appointment at the vaccination clinic and view the certificate in the My Health application. ‘My Health’ is an application recently launched by the Ministry of Health to provide healthcare services to individuals in the country. It allows the user to access health information for everyone and get many health services provided by various organizations in the health sector.
