Marrakech – Digital is undeniably a capital lever for the creation of value in Africa, said Thursday in Marrakech, the director general of the Digital Development Agency (ADD), Mohamed Drissi Melyani.
Speaking at the “Africa Digital Summit” meeting, organized as part of the first edition of “GITEX AFRICA”, Mr. Melyani explained that digital is “an essential tool for our youth resolutely oriented towards technological innovation. and rapid immersion in the global digital world”.
During this meeting, marked by the participation of business leaders in Africa and elsewhere, the manager indicated that the organization of “GITEX Africa” in Morocco constitutes “a real opportunity for all of us to highlight our enormous assets and potential in terms of technological innovation and to present the advances and achievements accumulated in recent decades in this innovative and promising field”.
And Mr. Melyani to continue that this first event on an African scale is also an opportunity to “enhance our human capital, which is so strong and competitive and which deserves to be encouraged, supported by all means since it proves to us to each time its remarkable ability to meet the various challenges in terms of technological innovation to suitably serve the development of several sectors such as agriculture, health, industry or education in addition to finance and trade”.
Referring to cooperation with African countries, the Director General of ADD stressed that the Kingdom is always committed alongside friendly and brotherly countries of the Continent, and does not hesitate to provide support and share its experiences in all the domains.
His Majesty King Mohammed VI continues to plead for the consolidation and strengthening of South-South cooperation as well as the combination of efforts for better economic and social prosperity of the Continent, he continued, noting ADD’s willingness to support African partners in the field of digitalization.
Mr. Melyani also highlighted the particular interest HM the King attaches to technological innovation and the introduction of new information and communication technologies in all components of the digital ecosystem as well. both public and private.
Placed under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, this large-scale event carried by the Digital Development Agency (ADD) under the supervision of the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, brings together, three days of public and private sector leaders, policy makers, investors and academics for intensive exchanges between the public and private sectors of the future largest digital economy in the world.
