The number of small businesses has grown 20% in Brazil since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, reaching 3.6 million micro and small businesses in 2022, according to the Sebrae. However, according to the institution, the percentage that ends its activities in five years is still significant: 29% among individual micro-entrepreneurs; 21% among micro companies and 17% among small companies.

The same survey confirms that one of the main causes of small business closures is the lack of access to credit. It was exactly this difficulty that led the digital bank Go.Bank to focus on financing small and medium-sized companies, such as snack bars, restaurants, bakeries, beauty services and auto repair shops.

Among the credit options offered by Go.Bank for SMEs are loans using property or vehicle as collateral (with interest from 0.59% to 0.99% per month – plus Selic), working capital without physical guarantees (up to R R$ 150 thousand for companies with less than three years and up to R$ 700 thousand for businesses with more than three years), in addition to prepayment of receivables.

“We have tailor-made solutions for SMEs. It is not necessary, for example, to buy packages. It is possible to contract services according to the need. We have more than 20 customized financial solutions”, explains Renato Coelho, CEO of Go.Bank.

He informs that his institution wants to differentiate itself from other digital banks by the customer relationship model. “Our partners don’t just need to keep in touch via the platform or app. We also offer humanized care”, he warns.

To increase this proximity to small and medium-sized companies, Go.Bank will now have branches in cities in the interior. Founded in 2011, in the city of Guarulhos, in Greater São Paulo, the bank will open a new unit this month in Mogi das Cruzes, in the Alto Tietê region, in the same state. And the idea is to inaugurate 10 more until next year.

The Mogi branch is being implemented in partnership with the Marbor Group, a traditional local company in the real estate sector, which is now a partner-investor of the bank in the city. The unit will operate in Vila Helio, one of the group’s developments and also a tourist spot in downtown Mogiano. Several trade and service companies are installed there, in addition to the Hotel Marbor.

“Go.Bank offers truly customized solutions, which is why we decided to invest. Their target audience is formed by a group that is already our client: small and medium-sized companies”, comments Tatiana Borenstein, director of Grupo Marbor.

“Having a renowned company as a partner in the city where we are starting operations is of great importance. Being able to count on someone who has already built a history in Mogi makes our work gain speed and assertiveness”, adds Renato Coelho, from Go.Bank.
