Difficult deliveries for unvaccinated

A few days before Christmas, 80% of the birth rooms dedicated to future mothers positive for COVID-19 were occupied.

This situation was not without worrying the staff of the obstetrics department of CHUS Hôpital Fleurimont.

In her last trimester of pregnancy, a young woman who was transported by ambulance from the Granby hospital center even underwent an emergency cesarean section to save her life and that of her baby.

In the majority of cases, mothers infected with the virus were unfortunately not vaccinated.

For the head of the department, this is nonsense since the vaccine is not only safe, but beneficial for the unborn baby.

After having passed the milestone of around one hundred hospitalizations linked to Covid and the 588 new infections recorded yesterday in the region, the situation is not reassuring for health workers in hospitals.
