DIF Morelia promotes the exercise and respect of the rights of children and adolescents

• Invites to participate in the call “Your story counts a lot”

Morelia, Michoacán, April 5, 2023.- With the objective of promoting the exercise, respect and comprehensive protection of the rights of girls, boys and adolescents (NNA), the DIF Morelia, chaired by Paola Delgadillo Hernández, promotes the call “Your story counts a lot.”

This is an initiative of the National System for the Protection of Children and Adolescents (SIPINNA) that seeks to promote social awareness and responsibility in the protection and guarantee of the rights of children in society.

This is due to the fact that promoting and guaranteeing the full exercise of the rights of children and adolescents is vital for the development of a society, and implies that all the actors, both public and private, work together to guarantee the integral development of children, promoting public policies, educational programs and concrete actions to ensure that the rights of this sector of the population are respected and fulfilled.

In this sense, all members of the community must be actively involved in the recognition and promotion of children’s rights, and the participation of children and adolescents in this process is essential to generate a real and lasting impact.

Thus, with the call “Your story counts a lot” girls and boys from 6 to 12 years of age in the municipality are invited to participate in the creation of short stories that address issues related to the human rights of children.

The stories must deal with one of the human rights of children and adolescents that the participant considers most relevant, such as:

Right to life, survival and development; education rights; to health; to identity; to live with family; not to be discriminated; as well as the right of access to a life free of violence and to personal integrity.

The deadline to send the stories is from March 27 to April 14, 2023. Those interested in participating can send their stories to the SIPINNA Morelia email: [email protected]
