“Diesel Fuel Cheaper than Super E10 for the First Time in 8 Months: ADAC Report”

2023-02-15 08:00:00

For the first time in eight and a half months, diesel fuel is cheaper than Super E10. As the ADAC reports, a liter of Super 10 currently costs 1.763 euros on average nationwide, and the average price for a liter of diesel is 1.762 euros. Both varieties are still more expensive than a week ago. A good two and a half cents more have to be paid for a liter of petrol, and diesel has become regarding half a cent more expensive. Even if crude oil has also become somewhat more expensive, the ADAC sees scope for price reductions at gas stations.

Most recently, diesel was cheaper than Super E10 on May 31, 2022. Since the start of the tank discount on June 1, diesel drivers have regularly had to pay more than petrol drivers. The tax on diesel was reduced by around 17 cents per liter during the three-month rebate, while the tax rebate on petrol was 35 cents. Nevertheless, diesel still enjoys a tax advantage of over 20 cents. But even following the end of the tank discount on August 31, 2022, diesel remained more expensive than the Super E10 due to special effects.

As before, the Automobile Club states as a rule of thumb that daily prices are lowest between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. If you avoid the petrol stations in the morning, you can save up to 15 cents per liter at the end of the day. (awm)
