Dieng Area Encouraged to Become Muslim-Friendly Tourist Destination

THE tourist area in the Dieng Plateau, Central Java, is being pushed to become a Muslim-friendly tourist destination. The discourse was echoed in the socialization of sharia economics and finance at the Dieng Culture Festival (DCF) XIV in 2024.

In order to achieve Muslim-friendly tourism, socialization is needed, one of which is packaged in the form of “Cultural Kongko and Sholawat Festival” which took place at the Pandawa Stage, Arjuna Temple Complex, Dieng Kulon Village, Batur District, Banjarnegara Regency, Central Java (Jateng) and was the closing of the DCF XIV series on Sunday (25/8).

Kongko Budaya, which aims to be a means of spreading Islamic economics and finance, is packaged in the form of a light discussion that presents several speakers, including Deputy Head of the Bank Indonesia Representative Office (KPw BI) Purwokerto, Mahdi Abdillah, academician of the State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Kudus Abdul Jalil, and cultural figure Sosiawan Leak. This discussion is also accompanied by the chanting of Suluk Tajug Menara (STM).

Head of BI Purwokerto Representative Office, Christoveny, stated that the activity was a form of synergy in developing sharia economics and as a media for dissemination related to sharia economics and finance.

On that occasion, he also introduced the concept of Muslim-friendly tourism, especially in the Dieng Plateau Tourism Area, Dieng Kulon Village, Batur District, Banjarnegara.

Christoveny explained that with all its natural and cultural potential, Dieng has a great opportunity to become a tourist destination that is not only attractive to local and international tourists, but also friendly to Muslim tourists who are increasingly growing throughout the world.

Dieng has met various criteria as a Muslim-friendly tourist destination, such as the availability of places of worship, halal certification for restaurants, homestay management with sharia standards, and recognition of CHSE (Cleanliness, Health, Safety, and Environmental Sustainability) standards.

“To support the Muslim-friendly halal tourism ecosystem in the Dieng area, we also provide adequate prayer room tents in the Panggung Pandawa area during the 14th Dieng Culture Festival in 2024,” he explained.

This activity was closed with Gebyar Sholawat with Habib Zaidan Bin Yahya and Ustadz Sholeh Ilham as a form of gratitude for the success and smooth implementation of the 2024 Dieng Culture Festival. (Z-9)
