Asunción, IP Agency.- The Paraguayan driver became the first champion of a World Rally Championship (WRC) for our country with his victory this Sunday at the Chile Bio Bio Rally.
Diego Domínguez was the winner of the Chile Bio Bio Rally and took revenge for the 2023 edition when he was left out in this same race and without the necessary points for first place, having to settle for runner-up.
This year it was not like that, and Domínguez with the Spanish Rogelio Penate as co-driver achieved an advantage of more than four minutes over Eduardo Castro to be the winners of the weekend’s day.
The victory was celebrated by President Santiago Peña. «!Historic, first Paraguayan to win the FIA WRC3 World Championship! “Leaving the name of Paraguay at the top!” the president published on his social networks.
The 24-year-old Paraguayan driver stands out in the WRC3 category with two very successful seasons that led him to be runner-up and now the first Paraguayan to be champion of a World Rally Championship (WRC).
