One of the most successful local bands is breaking up following almost three decades. “Die Seer” announced on their website and on Facebook that they will be going on a farewell tour next year. In addition, a final album (title: “Ausklang”) will be released.
“The goal has always been to celebrate the farewell from the stage in a worthy and appropriate manner, at a time when we are in the best of health and the Seer can present themselves one hundred percent. This time has now come,” said the band around founder Alfred ” Fred” Jaklitsch with me. “We particularly like to remember our legendary home open air in Grundlsee, the “Zloam”, where we came together with up to 25,000 visitors. They were unforgettable moments that will always accompany us.”
In addition to Jaklitsch and the singers Sabine “Sassy” Holzinger and Astrid Wirtenberger, Jürgen Leitner (harmonica), Thomas Eder (guitar), Wolfgang Luckner (drums), Dietmar Kastowsky (bass) and Daniel Schröckenfuchs (keyboard) shape the sound of the band. In 2002, “Die Seer” released their most successful album to date, “Junischnee”, which stayed in the Austrian charts for a total of 112 weeks and went platinum three times for more than 90,000 albums sold in Austria.
