You may have seen white sand beaches, or gray ones, but have you ever seen entire pink sand beaches?
If we take the example of the beach Pink Sands Beach, located on Harbor Island in the Bahamas, which stretches for five kilometers, it is entirely pink. This unusual color is due to foraminifera, microscopic coral insects with a red shell which, by mixing with the white sand, create a very pretty pink tint.
Even more impressive, in French Polynesia, in the Tuamotu Archipelago, is the 20 square kilometer island of Tikehau, nicknamed “the pink sand island”. And for good reason ! Long pink sand beaches border its lagoon. The landscapes are magnificent. The contrast with the turquoise water is simply sumptuous.
Also, did you know that in China, there is a fiery red beach ?
