Believe it or not, there are cars that have a longer life cycle than most people realize. And this is not regarding the level of use, but rather regarding the benefits from a business point of view. Unclear? We explain.
As a rule, a car manufacturer develops a model with the expectation that it will sell it for an average of 6 to 7 years. Once this threshold is reached, the car is usually discontinued and subsequently replaced by the next generation. But this does not always happen.
Rather, there are a number of rare exceptions that only apply to certain markets.
A good example of this is the Cadila sedan that recently went on sale in Iran. The author of this car is the local concern Saipa, which used everything it might from the first generation Logan, which was discontinued in Europe in 2012, and in Russia in 2015.
Despite the fact that the front and rear of the Iranian four-door looks like a unique car, in fact it is only a visually turned Logan 1 generation of the 2004 model.
The relationship between cars can be easily traced even by the silhouettes of their bodies, as well as the shape of the side windows, doors, mirrors and wheel arches.
Inside, the Iranians changed only the instrument panel, and also slightly changed the design of the steering wheel and transmission selector. However, there is still no cardinal difference between the interiors of the original and the copy.
Cadila is equipped with a 1.6-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine that produces 115 horsepower and 147 Nm of torque. A bunch of him is a mechanical or automatic transmission.
And, finally, one more interesting moment. Even though this sedan is technically a very outdated car, it is positioned as a premium model for Iranian buyers. How do you like this premium?
