The Dickery chain enters Białystok. Residents will have the opportunity to try waffles in the shape of genitals.
Dickery is a confectionery chain that, as soon as it appeared on the market (in April 2022), immediately aroused extreme emotions. Breaking taboos and accustoming Poles to sexuality using, it would seem, ordinary waffles, decided a Polish-Ukrainian couple – Rusłana and Krystian.
The waffles they offer to their customers, however, do not have the usual rectangular shapes. Their appearance shows male and female genitalia.
– By creating such a bold and controversial gastronomic project in Poland, we were ready for what was happening right now, i.e. we assumed that the reception we were seeing might look like this. And this confirms our belief that the decision we made not to make “socially acceptable” waffles is the right one, because we do not want to accept this reality – inform the owners of Dickery. – Our goal is that the shape of our products evokes thoughts of joy, equality and acceptance.
The men’s penis-shaped waffle is called “Hero” and the women’s vagina-shaped waffle is called “Shero”. The waffles can be served with artisanal Belgian chocolate, with fillings and with fruit and sprinkles.
– We spent a lot of time to find and finally produce an all-natural dough that will not need anything but baking powder. It is a problem to bake our waffle with an unusual shape so that it is not raw inside. We finally succeeded after two months of testing different types of dough. Thanks to this, our waffles do not have any fillers and E-ingredients. Now the dough is baked evenly, whole – says Krystian, co-owner of Dickery, in an interview with the portal naszemiasto.pl.
Dickery confectioneries can already be found in many cities all over Poland, e.g. Wrocław, Warsaw, Kraków, Gdańsk, Katowice and Łódź. Now a place serving unique waffles will also appear in Białystok.
It will be located at ul. Malmeda 11. Its opening is scheduled for April 7. Dickery will be available to visit from 12.00-20.00.
