The Oscar winner is an active member of organizations that care for the environment, which is why he reflected his concern regarding the illegal felling of trees.

The actor and ecological activist Leonardo DiCaprio described that Venezuela experiences one of the greatest losses of virgin forests, due to the excessive deforestation that occurs in the Amazon jungle.
DiCaprio posted the message on Instagram and accompanied it with an image in which he highlighted the importance of combating the indiscriminate felling of trees, as this brings climate problems globally.
“Deforestation is one of the biggest climate problems, as huge amounts of precious trees are felled every year to meet human needs,” he said.
The Oscar winner reflected that the figures indicate a “loss of forests” of around 170%, although he did not specify which institution or organization referred to said percentage.
“Venezuela experiences some of the largest deforestation in the world,” he stressed in his message on social networks.
This is not the first time that he has pronounced on Venezuela, since on previous dates he had communicated his concern regarding access to drinking water in some communities.
“Venezuela’s economic collapse has left most homes without reliable sources of running water,” he had written at the time.
