Dibba Al Hisn witnessed a poetry reading session that hosted the poet Rabie Al Zaabi, a member of the Dubai Poets Council, yesterday, Wednesday. This is part of a series of programs administered by the Department of Culture in the Eastern Region.
The poet opened the poetry session with a poem dedicated to Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of the Emirate of Sharjah, the first patron of culture and incubator of poetry houses throughout the Arab world. The poet also recited a Nabatean poem on the occasion of the Prophet’s birthday, which he composed in love with the Master of Messengers, Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace.
The poet spoke regarding his poetic beginnings, touching on the most prominent stations in his poetic experience through his participation in many poetry evenings and cultural events, most notably the Millionaire’s Poet programme, where he represented the UAE in Nabati poetry in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The poet has a poetry collection under the title “Many Things,” which combines patriotic, humanitarian, emotional, and social poems and presents them in a new intellectual form.
