U.S. stocks rallied on the Fed rate hike, with the Dow up 518.76 points and the Nasdaq up 487.93 points. Taiwan stocks rose synchronously today, electronics, traditional industries and financial stocks rose synchronously. The index soared by more than 428 points in early trading, standing on the 17349-point annual line in one fell swoop.
TSMC’s American Depositary Receipt (ADR) rose by more than 4%, and its share price reached NT$579 in early trading today, up 21 yuan. Hon Hai earned more than 1 share capital last year, with a net profit of 10.05 yuan per share. Today’s stock price also performed well, once reaching 104 yuan, up 2.5 yuan. MediaTek distributed a cash dividend of 73 yuan per share, and the stock price reached 960 yuan, up 53 yuan. The stock king Sili-KY even jumped the daily limit at the opening, reaching 3,160 yuan.
The U.S. Federal Reserve (Fed) announced a 1-yard rate hike to control inflation, in line with market expectations, and U.S. stocks closed higher in shock. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 518.76 points, or 1.55%; the Nasdaq rose 487.93 points, or 3.77%; the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index rose 159.83 points, or 5.03%.
