In an interview with La W, the journalist and daughter of former councilor Luis Gregorio López (killed by Francisco ‘Kiko’ Gomez), Diana Lopez Zuletacriticized the decision of the JEP that opened the door to the former governor of La Guajira to evaluate his eventual acceptance for links with paramilitaries between 1997 and 2006.
According to Diana, the former mayor is not a third party with links to paramilitary groups, on the contrary, he was a pure paramilitary, who should not be admitted to the Peace Court.
“Although ‘Kiko’ Gómez used the paramilitary apparatus to order homicides to be committed, to order massacres to be committed, he was not really a third party, here what changes is the approach to accommodate itDiana stated.

“In the Peace Agreement it was established that only civil third parties or third state agents enter the JEP, he was mayor of Barrancas and might apply, but he was not just a collaborator or financier, he was an active part, he ordered to commit homicides, that is not a collaborator”, he recounted.
In addition, he indicated that if Gómez is accepted, the JEP must then admit all the former paramilitary chiefs. Also pointed him out for lying in his proposal of truthdisqualifying that the ex-governor had any link with the FARC and that later he has gone over to the side of the AUC.
About his possible contribution to the truth, López Zuleta did not give him much credibility.
