Princess Diana’s countless fans can now buy greeting cards and letters after Sworder’s put them up for auction.
Recipient of the letters and cards being auctioned, Violet Collison, who for many years was the housekeeper of the Spencer family, Diana’s family.
Her beloved housekeeper looked after the then young Diana at Park House in Sandringham, where the Princess of Wales spent all her childhood.
Most of the letters to “Collie” (as Diana called her) are thank-you notes for Christmas and birthday gifts for her and her children, Princes William and Harry.
$1,200, it is estimated that the princess’s letter from 1984, which she wrote about the wonderful relationship between the two little princes, will sell for.
“William adores his little brother and spends all his time giving Harry endless hugs and kisses,” the letter reads.
A Christmas card with the same date will also be given with it.
Much lower, in the amount of 300 dollars, it is estimated that the personal invitation accepted by the housekeeper for the wedding of Diana with King Charles, and the ticket for her funeral will be sold.
“Collie” remained by the Spencer family’s side until her death in 2013, aged 89.
She was chief housekeeper to John Spencer and his wife Frances Sand Kyd. After their marriage broke up in 1967, he followed Frances to London, always helping out with the family’s children.
