Former deputy Diana Beatriz Conti died at the age of 67, as confirmed by those close to the former official.
Conti, who was also undersecretary of Human Rights, senator and advisor to the Judiciary, was hospitalized with pneumonia. The historic Peronist leader battled cancer in the last months of her life, those close to her told the Buenos Aires media.
Conti was an official of the Judicial Branch, of the Executive Branch, deputy, senator, member of the Council of the Judiciary and part of the Committee once morest Torture.
Conti always evoked the idea of an “eternal Cristina” and fought for the candidacy of former president CFK.
A strong defender of the former head of state, Conti recognized some time later that that much-criticized idea was not viable and proposed “eternal policies” of Kirchnerism.
Conti was also president of the Victory Party. From that place she supported the pre-candidacy of Eduardo “Wado” de Pedro for the Presidency last year.
