Diamondbacks vs. Rockies – Game Report – September 9, 2022

DENVER (AP) — Elías Díaz ended the hitting spree with a three-run homer that allowed him to total seven RBIs, and the Colorado Rockies beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 13-10 on Friday, despite squandering a lead of seven scores.

CJ Cron hit a 504-foot homer, the second-longest since tracking began, and the longest this season.

Arizona took a 10-8 lead on a nine-run fifth inning, but the Rockies rallied. The Los Angeles Angels were the last team to win a game in which they allowed nine runs in a single inning, on Sept. 19, 2008, at Texas.

Diaz, who had four hits and set a career high for RBIs, hit a two-run homer in the second and an RBI single in the fourth, both off Zach Davies.

After Yonathan Daza hit an RBI double in the sixth off Kyle Nelson to bring the Rockies within a run, Diaz tied it 10-10 with an RBI double off Reyes Moronta in the seventh.

Díaz ended the duel with his blow once morest Caleb Smith (1-2).

The victory went to Daniel Bard (5-4).

For the Diamondbacks, the Dominicans Ketel Marte 4-0 with a run scored and an RBI, Geraldo Perdomo 3-1 with a run scored.

For the Rockies, Venezuelans Daza 4-2 with a run scored and an RBI, Diaz 5-4 with two runs scored and seven RBIs. Dominican Elehuris Montero 1-0 with a run scored.
