Diamond League: Duplantis passes 6.10m in Poland – rts.ch

Two weeks following his world champion title, Swedish pole vaulter Armand Duplantis won the meeting in Chorzow (Poland), 9th stage of the Diamond League, with a jump of 6.10m.

After crossing this bar on the 3rd try, the world record holder (6.21m) decided to stop his competition. He beat Norwegian Sondre Guttormsen (5.73m) and Filipino Ernest John Obiena (5.73m).

“Mondo”, 22, broke the meeting record (5.91m) held by French Olympic champion Renaud Lavillenie since 2017, present at the meeting but who might not cross any bar. On the Swiss side, Ditaji Kambundji finished 8th in the 100m hurdles in 12”78, as did Lore Hoffmann in the 800m (2’00”76).

A 2nd Diamond League assured

Duplantis is already guaranteed to win its 2nd Diamond League following winning the meetings in Doha, Eugene, Oslo and Rome. The Chorzow stage did not count for the final classification. Duplantis won his first outdoor world title in Eugene (United States) at the end of July, his 5th international senior title since 2018.
