Diablo IV Season of Viciousness: Unleashing Powerful Monsters and Unique Benefits

Blizzard paid a lot of attention to endgame content before the launch of Diablo IV, so we also know that the developers have a lot of post-launch content ready. That doesn’t stop the game’s first season from sounding pretty impressive. Tonight’s livestream reveals almost everything regarding Diablo IV, when Season of Viciousness kicks off its massive update on July 20 at 6pm BST / 7pm CET. It all started when a new threat suddenly appeared in the shelter. Vicious monsters have to be stopped, and we’re clearly the best for it. Cormond is a former priest of the Cathedral of Light, and he knows how, and even delivered the good news that we can use the hearts of these monsters to use these new enemies to become stronger… as long as we are ready for challenge. Because interacting with these hearts will begin a ritual that resurrects a more powerful version of the enemy. Only following defeating these does one get a useful version of the vicious heart called a caged heart, which can be inserted into jewels. This will not bring us regular benefits, but unique special benefits. In fact, there are only 32 Vicious Hearts in four classes, and one example makes critical strikes charge enemies. One of the best ways to get one of these hearts is to enter the so-called malignant tunnel. These new dungeons are filled with new monsters, including a new boss: The Consumed Vaal Mountain. Defeating him, completing quests and more will also reward us with more boons, the stuff that allowed us to progress in the previously detailed battle pass. They also have the potential to drop 6 new unique items or one of 7 legendary aspects. Combine this with the 32 new Vicious Heart buffs, and it sounds like our new season characters might become very different from the ones we’ve used in the campaign.
