Diablo Immortal Game News: Players Outraged Over Cosmetics Business Model

Diablo Immortal has recently added a long-awaited feature, but unfortunately players still have a good reason to be angry…

Recently, Diablo Immortal has updated its game, adding the The long-awaited free class change feature. However, the players were unlucky enough to discover that all your purchases were not automatically transferred.

Skins are locked to the class you bought them with

Players can, starting July 20, change your class at no additional cost in Diablo Immortal and once a week. But those who have done so have discovered a quite disturbing detail. In fact, when you change classes in Diablo Immortal, you don’t Keep your paid cosmetics and those unlocked through the Battle Pass in the game. This is because, even in the case of identical skins (or equivalent) to two classes, are locked to the class you bought them with.

If you change classes, you end up with worthless paid skins

Also, note that Battle Pass cosmetics can only be unlocked once. This means that if you unlock a Battle Pass skin with one class, then it changes to another class, can’t “unlock” skin again in question with his new class. If you change classes in the middle of the battle pass, you can end up with one armor skin for one class, one weapon skin attached to anotheretc… There is no way to recover what you have already unlocked.

outraged players

The players were obviously outraged against this rather dubious mechanic. In Reddit and Twitter, many have denounced Blizzard’s practices. Above all, they are outraged to find that, in absolute terms, it would be necessary 150 to have a skin at 25 euros for all classes.

Z_Zircon:

ATTENTION: Paid cosmetics do not accompany you when you change classes.

I didn’t think I would join the chorus of complaints against this game; I knew what I had signed up for. But here I am.

It is absolutely unsustainable right now. All the cosmetics I’ve paid for, none of which should be locked by class (they even show up as the appropriate armor when previewed in my inventory) are not available to a new class. Even the battle pass classes. This means that if I finish my Battle Pass and get the Bloodsworn armor in the class I am currently in, I will only be able to use the weapon in my previous class and the armor only in that class.

Horrible. 20-30 bucks lost, unless I want to play Wizard for the rest of my game time (in which case it won’t be much longer).

Diablo Immortal: players outraged by the business model of cosmetics

Excuse my cameraman:

Class-specific cosmetics and equipment will not carry over when changing classes. All pieces of gear from your last class will be available in your inventory. Cosmetics you own for a class will be carried over and become available again when you return to that class.

Which cosmetics are not “class specific”, I thought maybe it was the Battle Pass, but it seems not.

Have you bought the Diablo 2 cosmetics? When you buy them, you can see the whole class on the side. Isn’t this class specific?

Z_Zircon:

Everything except the Inferno Within weapon seems to be class-locked, regardless of it being something all classes can carry.

May Diablo Immortal find another way to hit players! YES, THE CLASS CHANGE! In fact, we are going to screw all the players by forcing them to buy all their skins again, and for the same character that you already bought them for once… Wait, there are more, you buy them for all classes of the same character.

That’s not really the problem for me, I don’t care. What matters to me is that every penny you put into a character is LOCKED to ONE server on ONE CHARACTER. If I’ve spent $25 on a skin, I should be able to use that skin on another character if it’s the same class and gender. That’s greedy.

Once again, it seems that Blizzard is at odds with their players, on Diablo Immortal.
