Explained in a new interview with Kinda Funny Games Diablo 4-Boss Rod Fergusson everything the Blizzard development team has on the way right now. Fergusson revealed that the developers are hard at work, not only on patches and seasons, but also on two brand new expansions for the new game. “We have to build things in parallel”said Fergusson. “Right now, as I’m sitting here, we’re regarding to launch the main game, we’re finishing season one, we’re working on season two, we’re working on expansion one, we’re launching expansion two — that’s all that’s going on right now happens”Ferguson continued.
He also says that you have to build things “sustainably”. The team needs to stay hungry and active even when the work seems busy. In fact, what’s coming soon doesn’t even include live service patches, a big chunk of the post-launch content of Diablo 4. A major rebalance patch has already been released and a hotfix was recently released. That’s a lot of work for a game that just came out. So it’s clear that Activision Blizzard would do well to take care of its own team and not ask too much of them. Let’s hope this works out!
