Diablo 2: Resurrected received a patch with three options for emulating the original graphics

Vicarious Visions continues to improve Diablo 2: Resurrected. The game received a large-scale patch 2.4, which not only introduces many changes to the characteristics of the characters, their skills and items, but also adds interesting features.

For example, the game has three new options for emulating the graphics of the original game. They are called GDI, Glide and Resurrected.

  • GDI emulates the software rasterization of the original game and does not apply any filters.

  • Glide emulates the internals of the original game with hardware acceleration and bilinear filtering.

  • Resurrected uses Glide emulation with additional adjustments to address artifacts that may have occurred in the original rendering of Glide.

Developer comment:

We thought Resurrected was the best emulation option for players, but during our testing on the PTR we saw reports that some people like the old graphics style that the game had at the time of its release. It did not use filters and resembled the software rasterization of the original game. We hope that with these emulation options, players will be able to choose the graphic style they like best.

Also, for the first time since 2010, the balance of classes has changed in the game. You can read more about the changes here.

Diablo 2: Resurrected available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch.
