Diaa El-Sayed doubts Ayman Abdel Aziz’s capabilities with the Egyptian national team

Diaa El-Sayed, the former coach of the Egyptian national team, confirmed that he had hoped that the Egyptian element in the technical staff of the Pharaohs, led by Portuguese Roy Vitoria, would be “strong”, as he described it.

El-Sayed assumed the position of general coach of the Egyptian national team within the former technical staff of the Pharaohs led by Portuguese Carlos Queiroz, as the team failed with him to qualify for the 2022 World Cup, only to be sacked completely last April.

The Football Association announced earlier the appointment of Ayman Abdel Aziz as the general coach of the Vitoria Authority.

Today, Friday evening, Egypt will play its first match under the leadership of Vitoria, when it hosts Niger at the “Alexandria” stadium in an international friendly match.

Al-Sayed said, in statements to “On Time Sports 1” channel, in the early hours of Friday morning, “It was not right for Vitoria to set conditions for choosing the Egyptian general coach with his assistant apparatus, and he has not coached teams before, (the story kept its blood).”

He added, “I was hoping that the Egyptian general coach in the Vitoria apparatus would be “strong”, because the Portuguese would need him to solve minor problems before they escalate, such as the recent crisis of Mohamed Awad.”

In a different context, Al-Sayed explained, “We have not received our dues from the Football Association so far, and Khaled Al-Dardali (board member) promised me to solve the problem at the beginning of next October.”

El-Sayed praised the mentality of Mohamed Salah, the captain of the Egyptian national team, noting that “he has gained a lot of professional experience, has a great emotional stability, and knows very well how to deal with criticism.”

The coach gave an example by saying, “When we were in Cameroon during the African Nations Championship, Mohamed Salah held a meeting with the players of the national team and told them regarding how to deal with “mobile” as professional players.”
