The German freight company announced on April 20, 2023 that it had ordered from Jetran the nine airliners that will be converted by Mammothwith the first cargo aircraft to be delivered in 2024 and the others by early 2027. This agreement “ part of the overall sustainability priority to modernize DHL Express’s long-haul intercontinental fleet, including the replacement of older aircraft “, underlines in a press release the company which opened a hub at Paris-CDG airport at the end of 2021. These converted aircraft constitute “a bridge efficient between current technologies and new airframes, such as next-generation wide-body cargo aircraft Boeing 777-8F or Airbus A350F (two types not ordered by DHL to date).

Between 2018 and 2022, DHL purchased 28 new 777-200Fs from Boeing (including six in February); 18 of these planes are currently in service, with the other seven expected to arrive “between 2023 and 2025”.
