Kannur: SFI activist Dheeraj Rajendran, who was killed by a Youth Congress activist at Idukki Engineering College, will be laid to rest at his home. For this, the CPM bought eight cents of land near the house. Dheeraj’s body will be buried here. A monument to Dheeraj will be erected at this place. The CPM announced a hartal in Taliparamba tomorrow at 4 pm to protest the killing.
Relatives and locals are mourning Dheeraj’s death. Mother Pushpakala fainted following hearing the news of her son’s demise at her home in Pattappara, Taliparamba, Kannur. Pushkala’s relatives picked her up from the Kuvot Ayurveda Hospital where she works as a nurse.

Dheeraj returned to Idukki last Monday following a holiday. The phone rang at home last night as well. His father Rajendran, an LIC agent in Taliparamba, hails from Palode, Thiruvananthapuram. Dheeraj’s brother Advait Taliparamba is a first year graduate student at Sir Syed Technical Institute. The family has been living in Taliparamba for years. Dheeraj’s body will be taken home for mourning tomorrow morning following postmortem. There will be public viewing at various locations.

P. Jayarajan said that the group that killed Dheeraj Rajendran belonged to Sudhakaran’s big grade. The assassination was planned.
The stabbing was aimed at killing. All three were stabbed in the chest.
Dheeraj was buried at a place bought by the CPM in Taliparamba. Jayarajan said it would be preserved as a monument to the politics of murder.
