Dhawan could lead India against South Africa; Potential for young players

Shikhar Dhawan to lead India in T20I series once morest South Africa Senior players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Jaspreet Bumra will be rested. Cricketbus reports that the series will give a chance to the players who have excelled in the IPL, including the Malayalee player Sanju Samson.

Mumbai Indians’ young batsman Tilak Verma, Sunrisers’ express pacer Umran Malik and Punjab Kings’ star pacer Arshdeep Singh are all likely to feature in the squad. Hardik Pandya, Dinesh Karthik, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Prasidh Krishna, Rituraj Gaikwad and Deepak Hooda will also be in the squad.

The five-match series runs from June 9 to 19. India will fly to the UK following this series. India have matches once morest Ireland and England in the UK. The BCCI’s goal is to rest the senior players ahead of the England series. India will also field youngsters in the T20I match once morest Ireland.

The first T20 will be played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The matches will be played in Cuttack, Visakhapatnam, Rajkot and Bangalore on June 9, 12, 14, 17 and 19 respectively.
