THE prospective gubernatorial and vice gubernatorial candidates from the independent route, Dharma Pongrekun-Kun Wardana became the third and last pair to register at the DKI Jakarta KPU Office. Both arrived to register on Thursday (29/8) at around 19:25 WIB.
As a candidate advancing as an individual, Dharma expressed his gratitude to the team of independent volunteers who had helped him and Kun during the process of fulfilling the requirements for support from Jakarta residents.
“We are very grateful to the Almighty God who has brought us this far,” said Dharma.
Dharma-Kun’s arrival at the DKI Jakarta KPU Office was accompanied by a number of public figures, including Kamaruddin Simanjuntak, lawyer Brigadier Joshua, and former Minister of Health, Siti Fadilah Supari.
Previously on Wednesday (28/8), the DKI Jakarta KPU had received registration from two prospective candidate pairs, namely Pramono Anung-Rano Karno and Ridwan Kamil-Siswono. Pramono-Rano were supported by the PDI Perjuangan which won 14.01% of the vote.
Meanwhile, the Head of the DKI Jakarta KPU, Wahyu Dinata, revealed that the Emil-Siswono pair was supported by 13 political parties, namely PKB, Gerindra, Golkar, NasDem, Gelora, PKS, Garuda, PAN, PBB, Demokrat, PSI, Perindo, and PPP. If totaled, the valid votes of the 13 parties supporting Emil-Siswono reached 83.15%. (Tri/P-2)
