It was years ago in 2016 that Dezső Straub performed on the Vidám stage, then invited a fan, Mónika, to dinner following the performance. The dinner invitation turned into love, but the relationship ended in 2022. The 71-year-old actor said the following regarding the breakup:
“unfortunately, it sometimes happens that a relationship runs out of shared dreams. The same thing happened to us with Mónika, and we sadly took a new direction, now separately.”
The difficulties were aggravated by the death of Dezső Straub’s good friend, Tamás Böröndi, and following that the widow, Anna Götz, removed Dezső Straub from Vidám Színpad.
However, the Jászai Mari award-winning actor has now found new jobs and a new chapter in his love life has also begun. Dezső Straub spoke to Story magazine regarding the relationship and his new partner, Zsuzsa, saying, among other things, the following.

“He is a media professional, we have worked together before. Our working relationship turned into sympathy, we got to know and liked each other’s humor and taste. We are over the first six months, but we are still on probation. Over seventy, I already have a little life experience, I know what I want with the rest of my time. What I really don’t want anymore is a hot, all-consuming, world-shaking love. There was also time for that. When my partner and I were watching the shooting stars in August, my wish was simple: peace and tranquility”
Dezső Straub says now. He adds that he is well aware of himself that it is not easy to live with him, since his profession is so important to him:
“I’m a difficult partner, I know that for sure. Whoever lives with me has to make a compromise, because I am in love with my profession and I believe that talent is public property. Those who are popular and loved cannot be selfish, those who can entertain, it is the dog’s duty to entertain as long as he lives.”
Just as a new chapter began in his emotional life following the difficulties, Dezső Straub’s financial situation also settled down. Recently, the actor can be seen at the Körúti Theater and the Pesti Művész Theater. But previously he lived in extremely difficult conditions:
“when the rug was pulled out from under me following Tamás’s death, I had serious financial problems. I’m not exaggerating, for a year and a half, my daily lunch was a grilled chicken leg and two slices of bread. That’s how long it took! I am proud that I had so much strength and endurance that I was able to get back on my feet. Today I am independent once more, my livelihood does not depend on the talent or lack of talent of others. I work with the Körúti Theater and the Pesti Művész Theater.”
