Cayden Primeau is still the goalkeeper of the future for the Canadiens and he has always been since his draft.
The 2021-2022 season was difficult for the American, especially when he was playing with the big club. But since his last run in Laval, he is simply sublime and his series are exceptional.
He’s one of the reasons the Rocket does so well.
His good friend, Buffalo Sabers and Northeastern Huskies goaltender Devon Levi, rejoices in his success and is happy for him.

During a brief interview with Lapresse at the Sports Celebrity Luncheon at the Cummings Jewish Center for Seniors Foundation in Mount Royal, Levi said he was happy for Primeau.
Both goalies came through Northeastern during their college careers. Even if their path never crossed, the fact remains that the two Cerberus spoke to each other a few times.
Levi admitted that Primeau sometimes comes to visit the area.
I spoke to him a few times before the World Junior Championships. I wanted to ask him for advice. We text each other sometimes. –Devon Levi
As for Levi, Quebecers know him well. Number one, he’s from here, and number two, he was the goaltender for Junior Team Canada a few years ago. Internationally, he has always done well. He was a 2020 Panthers seventh-round pick but was traded to the Sabers in the Sam Reinhart trade.
For Levi, turning professional is not urgent.
There is no rush to become professional. I wanted to take a little more time to improve on the ice. And off the ice, I wanted to develop as a person, with my studies. I wanted another year before starting my pro career. –Devon Levi
