Devin Booker enjoyed but … got injured: Phoenix grits his teeth

Dirty night for the Suns! In addition to losing to the Pelicans of a huge Brandon Ingram, the troupe of Monty Williams lost Devin Booker to injury. Too bad, the boy had left to pose a classic.

Stinky news. And yet, things were going pretty well for the Suns, with a first period of fire during which Devin Booker planted… half of his team’s points: 31 units out of 61 at 12/18 shooting including 7/10 at 3- points, the kind of statistical madness that authorizes its author to check a baby following having put two opponents in the sauce. In short, Devin was on fire Soprano way and nothing seemed to be able to prevent the guy from completing a line of zinzin on the Pelicans. Only, it’s always when things go too well that the hazards redistribute the cards. In the 3rd quarter, on an attempted challenge during a counter-attack by Jaxson Hayes, Devin Booker injured his hamstrings. He thus spent the rest of the second half in the locker room, and Monty Williams’ guys let the game go, Brandon Ingram having recovered the torch from D-Book.

And then there, we can speak of a catastrophic timing for Phoenix. The Pelicans have shown they have resources, especially through microwave players like Brandon Ingram and CJ McCollum. Add to that the series moving to Louisiana as of the next game, and you get serious doubts regarding what turn it might take, should Devin’s injury prove serious. There’s no need to worry right now, but exams will be taken in the hours that follow to find out more regarding the seriousness of the sore. As a reminder, hamstring pain had already sidelined Booker for seven games in December. Hopefully it’s less serious this time.

The loss isn’t the worst news for Suns fans following all, as Devin Booker might well miss games in this series, and without their star star, the entire Suns galaxy will risk disorientation.
