»Devictimization »is the latest draft by Gabonese writer Ida Flore Maroundou published by Éditions “Symphony”. On October 5, the author, who presented her collection to the public in Port-Gentil, underlined the importance of this work for women victims of violence.
“Devictimization” means leaving one’s state of victim in order to take control of one’s life. It is also about having a life of resilience, determination and courage on a daily basis to be able to move forward in life,” said Ida Flore Maroundou, the author.
Indeed, in Gabon for years, violence against women has been frequent and Law No. 006/2021 on the elimination of violence against women provides information on the abuses committed against this segment of the population. It comes to fight against discrimination and raise awareness of its perpetrators. It is for this reason that the president of the NGO Aurore makes this intellectual thought available to readers, in order to lead women and young girls to get out of this situation by denouncing it, in order to empower the sponsors.
For the author, “it is an essay that helps women, their loved ones and associations fighting against violence against women in order to better understand the victims and help them get out of it”she added.
Published by the editions “Symphony”the author considered it useful to make this pocket bouquet available to all budgets at the price of 10,000 CFA francs. With 87 pages, the book is available at the J3V16 bookstore at Carrefour Printemps, not far from the traffic lights, in the 3rd arrondissement of Port-Gentil.
“I understood that there are many women after having been victims of violence, who find it difficult to escape this cage of victims. This is to say that it is possible to gain the upper hand over everything and be able to get back on track in life.”she maintains.
