Developing Egypt’s Telecommunications Sector: President El-Sisi’s Vision for Growth and Expansion

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi directed the continuation of intensive work to develop the telecommunications sector in Egypt, especially by supporting emerging Egyptian companies operating in this field and encouraging their expansion, in addition to supporting the outsourcing industry and independent professionals, by promoting investment in human resources, and providing training and qualification programs. And building the necessary human and material capabilities, in cooperation with major international companies in this sector, in a manner commensurate with the modern requirements of the labor market, and integrated with the state’s strategy to prepare distinguished generations of Egyptian youth capable of global competition, and keeping pace with the rapid development in this vital sector.

This came during President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s meeting today with Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Lieutenant General Ahmed El Shazly, Head of the Financial Affairs Authority of the Armed Forces, and Major General Staff Bakr Al-Bayoumi, Director of the Signal Department of the Armed Forces.

Counselor Ahmed Fahmy, the spokesperson for the Presidency of the Republic, stated that the President was briefed during the meeting on the developments of the unified government network project to link the state’s administrative apparatus, to support the capabilities of governmental data circulation in a safe, fast and advanced manner, in a way that qualifies the administrative apparatus to upgrade all government services to citizens.

The President was also briefed on efforts to improve mobile services, as well as developing the Internet infrastructure to accommodate heavy usage and development requirements during the current and upcoming phases.

The President met with Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, and Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, to follow up on the rates of implementation of a number of projects in the communications and information technology sector, especially with regard to developments in implementing the “Digital Egypt” initiative, which aims to support government performance by providing the latest services. digital for citizens at the level of the Republic, as well as efforts to advance the design and manufacture of electronics in Egypt by deepening the local manufacturing of devices and designing electronic circuits, in addition to developments in expanding the capabilities of human cadres and training them in digital skills, with the aim of benefiting from the competitive advantages of Egypt as a promising country in providing services Outsourcing and increasing digital exports.
