At least two people have died in southern China following the heavy rains and winds caused by Super Typhoon Yagi. At least 92 people were also injured, according to the state news agency Xinhua. “Yagi” hit land in Hainan and parts of the neighboring mainland province of Guangdong on Friday and raged there during the night.
More than 2,200 workers were mobilized to restore power to over 1.5 million affected households in Hainan. “Yagi” had previously raged in the Philippines and claimed several lives there too.
