Bad news live from the Bayou. Trey Murphy III, the young winger of the Pels and incidentally holder of position 3 at NOLA, injured his knee meniscus during training and will have to be reassessed very quickly to find out if he will need surgery. The tile.
We might/should have told you regarding Trey Murphy III in other terms. For example, we might have made you a list of the five players most likely to become MIP next season. Or, we might have mentioned TMIII as one of Team USA’s midsummer sparring partners. In short, fine words, and like the impression that the young shooter from New Orleans was ahead of a great season.
It may be the case but unfortunately the starting line may be a little further than October…
Oh no… weeks away from training camp, Trey Murphy injuring his meniscus… fingers crossed ????

Ouch. Creaking meniscus at 22 years old, never very good at all. The Pels are a young team, already dependent on a (very) fragile superstar, and so it’s the worst news that might fall on Willie Green and his staff than to see one of the team’s young executives on the flank for several months.
The news will fall very quickly and we hope from the bottom of our hearts that they will be good. We are still talking regarding a kid on the rise, in a team on the rise, a young player who participates in dunk contests while already being one of the most effective snipers in the NBA. So please, destiny, leave him alone.
