Four families found themselves homeless following a fire that occurred early in the evening in downtown Montreal.
The flames started shortly after 6:30 p.m. in an apartment building on Cartier Street, between Ontario and Sherbrooke streets, in the Ville-Marie borough.
According to firefighters, the flames started in a second-floor apartment, before spreading to the third floor.

No one was injured during the disaster. On the other hand, the Red Cross was called in to support four families deprived of their homes by the blaze.
The cause of the fire remained unknown as of early evening.
