June 27: According to The Athletic, the Pistons would have planned to keep Hamidou Diallo one more season by activating their $5.2 million team option for the 2022-23 season of the 1.96m, 23-year-old swingman. The former Kentucky, winner of the 2019 Dunk Contest, comes out of a year with 11 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.2 steals per game with Detroit (58 games, 21.9 minutes).
However, this would not be the case for Frank Jackson and his option at 3.1 million.
The team has until Tuesday to officially make those decisions.
