(Detroit) Detroit Red Wings center Dylan Larkin has had season-ending trunk muscle surgery.

The Wings said their captain is expected to be reinstated around mid-June.

The suburban Detroit hockey player led his team in goals and points this season with 31 and 69 in 71 games.

The Red Wings will conclude a sixth straight season without making the playoffs.

Drafted 15e in 2014, Larkin had 147 goals and 358 points with Detroit in 504 games.
