A Detroit man, identified as Kamari Dushawn Parham, has been charged following a shooting incident that occurred on Sunday in Livonia, as confirmed by local police.
The 25-year-old Parham was formally charged on Monday in the 16th District Court in Livonia with a range of serious offenses, including two counts of assault with intent to murder, assault with a dangerous weapon, and using a firearm while committing a felony, according to officials.
In a subsequent court appearance, a judge set his bond at an imposing $1 million and scheduled his next court hearing for November 14, where he will face the serious consequences of his alleged actions.
If convicted on the charges of assault with intent to murder, Parham could potentially face a life sentence behind bars.
Authorities reported that the accused is alleged to have shot one man in the back at a local Livonia bar and another man in the leg at a nearby hotel.
Police were dispatched shortly after 1:20 a.m. Sunday to the Snooker’s Pool & Pub, located on Schoolcraft Road near Inkster Road, following reports of gunfire.
Upon their arrival at the scene, officers discovered a 36-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to his back near the main entrance of the bar. They swiftly administered first aid to the injured individual.
The suspected shooter, identified as Parham, was located and arrested at the bar without any further incident.
In the meantime, officers received additional 911 calls regarding a second shooting victim and proceeded to the Holiday Inn situated about a half mile from the bar.
At the hotel, they discovered a 31-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his leg. Officers again acted quickly to provide assistance to the victim.
According to preliminary investigative findings, both victims were reportedly involved in an altercation at the bar when Parham allegedly brandished a handgun and fired at them, resulting in injuries to both men.
The individual who sustained the leg injury reportedly fled the bar after the shooting and made his way to the hotel, where he was subsequently located by law enforcement.
Detectives investigating the case indicated that both victims are residents of Detroit.
