Every country has different rules regarding carrying gold biscuits, coins and jewelery while travelling. Some countries have restrictions on carrying these in hand. Some other countries will check the weight of gold transported in this way. Those traveling with large quantities of gold should inform the customs regarding this.
At the same time, Andrew Naylor, Head of Middle East and Public Policy of the World Gold Council, came to the scene to clarify his position in this regard. He said that the gold is transported out of the border through safe channels.

” But individuals cross international borders with large quantities of gold. Not saying it was wrong. This work lacks transparency. These can sometimes even lead to illegal gold smuggling. “Sometimes gold can be smuggled in this way for illegal purposes,” Naylor said.
At the same time, the World Gold Council is talking to Dubai Jewelery Group DMCC and other organizations regarding this issue.
Bringing in a uniform rule will help travelers coming to Dubai to buy gold and other jewellery. Recent reports have indicated that many tourists come to Dubai just to buy gold.

The World Gold Council and DMCC emphasize five main things. Which form of gold is allowed to be carried in hand? What is the personal limit?, Is there prior approval?, How to track hand carried gold? World Gold Council and DMCC give importance to such things.
” At present there is no uniform rule in this regard. Different countries have different laws. Some countries have set limits. Some countries have introduced registration. In this context we think it is time to have a discussion regarding the legal limit on carry-on gold,” said Andrew Naylor.
There is nothing wrong with travelers buying gold for specific purposes. But the question still remains whether wholesale sale is allowed for that, he said.
He pointed out that such illegal activities should be detected quickly and the customs officials should be given proper training for the same.
