Deteriorated outlook for Switzerland in 2023

The outlook for the Swiss economy continues to be bleak. The experts interviewed for the CS CFA indicator are still as worried regarding Swiss financial stability, particularly because of the recent banking turbulence.

The barometer established by the bank with two sails and the CFA umbrella fell sharply to -41.3 points in February once morest -12.3 points in January, reports a press release published on Wednesday.

More than half of the 46 analysts interviewed expect the Swiss economy to deteriorate further in all regions over the next six months. Only China should experience a recovery given its reopening, the study said.

During the survey period, the instability of the banking sector weighed on the optimism of financial experts who expect an equity market still under pressure, pushing the related index back below zero, to -6, 9 points once morest 8.0 points in February. However, the trend in long-term interest rates remained virtually unchanged, going from 24.6 to 25.0 points.

The decline in inflation is considered slower than expected by analysts, who also expect a further rise in key rates by the fall.
